NAV 2013 R2 Help Server Host Name
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 has a web based help system; this is great since it is now much easier to modify the help to include company specific instructions (gone are the old .chm help files) and users can use their web browser to bookmark the help, etc..
If you want to change the host name for the help server on an existing NAV client installation you can do this by changing the ClientUserSettings.config file.
The default location for this file is as follows:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\71
Open the file in Notepad (or another text editor) and you see the HelpServer and HelpServerPort configurations. Those can here be changed and after saving the file and restarting the client the help is pointing at the new host.
This corresponds to the URL you see when you open the help.
